Kroya, 23 September 2024 – English Festival 2024 tingkat Kabupaten Cilacap kembali menggelar final round dengan semarak dan antusiasme tinggi. Salah satu cabang yang paling dinanti dalam kompetisi ini adalah storytelling untuk tingkat SMP yang diadakan di SMP Negeri 1 Gandrungmangu.
Sebanyak 31 peserta terbaik dari berbagai SMP di Kabupaten Cilacap berhasil lolos ke babak final setelah melalui seleksi ketat pada tahap penyisihan. Mereka membawakan beragam cerita dengan penuh percaya diri dan kreativitas, mulai dari dongeng klasik hingga cerita rakyat Indonesia yang dikemas dengan bahasa Inggris. Kompetisi ini menantang peserta tidak hanya dari segi kemampuan bahasa, tetapi juga ekspresi, intonasi, dan kemampuan mereka dalam menyampaikan cerita secara menarik.
Nesya Yanuar Setiawan siswi SMP Negeri 1 Kroya menampilkan cerita dengan judul “The Legend of Situ Bagendit”. Penampilannya yang penuh penghayatan dan penguasaan materi yang baik membuatnya meraih juara 3 di tingkat kabupaten.
Lomba storytelling di Final Round English Festival 2024 tingkat Kabupaten Cilacap ini sukses menunjukkan potensi luar biasa siswa-siswa SMP dalam berbahasa Inggris. Kompetisi ini tidak hanya tentang memenangkan juara, tetapi juga tentang bagaimana siswa belajar mengekspresikan diri, bercerita dengan penuh semangat, dan membangun kemampuan komunikasi yang baik. Diharapkan, English Festival ini menjadi awal yang baik bagi para siswa untuk terus mengembangkan kemampuan mereka di masa depan.
